Kalamazoo Trail Blazin': Week Three

As the trees blossom and spring flowers bloom, a special network of trails in Northern Kalamazoo offer more than just a walk through the park. The Kalamazoo Nature Center, recognized as one of the nation's best, strives to reconnect you with nature. The trails at the Kalamazoo Nature Center provide education in addition to exercise.

Kalamazoo Nature Center:


The Kalamazoo Nature Center offers 14 trails covering 10 miles of varied habitats, including ponds, swamps, streams, prairies and forests. The trails vary by difficulty. Easy trails are less than one mile and offer lively views of many habitats. Moderate trails range from one-quarter mile to almost two miles and difficult trails are less than one mile with steep ascents and descents.

Located at 7000 N. Westnedge Avenue, admission to the Kalamazoo Nature Center is ranges from $4 to $6 and is free to KNC members. It is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
